Hickory Ridge Golf Course
Golf Digest has given Hickory Ridge a 4-star rating for the past
six years.   Hickory offers a playable golf course with four set of
tees.  The course can play as short as 5500 yards or as long as
6900 yards.  The gold course features 50 river-sand bunkers and
zoysia fairways.  Hickory offers a well-stocked pro shop,
restaurant, and a championship practice facility including driving
range, practice sand bunker and a full putting and chipping
green.  A lighted drivingrange will be new in 2006. 

Hickory is home to the SIUC Women's Golf Team and also hosts
the Saluki Invitational each March and the SIGA Players Cup in May. 
Hickory Ridge is located two miles north of Illinois 13 on the
west side of Carbondale.

Jackson Country Club
Private, four miles west of Carbondale in Illinois 13 and one mile south on Country Club Road. This short (5,897 yards), fully watered 18-hole course is known for its zoysia fairways and slick greens. Members of other clubs outside Jackson County may play the course, but must make arrangements with the pro.

Midland Hills Golf Course
Public - The 9-hole "Midland Hills" course at the Midland Hills Golf Course facility in Makanda, Illinois features 3,052 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35.  Designed by William H. Diddel, ASGCA, the Midland Hills golf course opened in 1923.

Stone Creek Golf Club
Nestled in the rolling hills of southern Illinois.  Stone Creek's layout features a 6,970-yard wonder.  The course features manicured Bermuda fairways and bent grass greens that showcase panoramic views of the Shawnee National Forest.  The course is a true test of golf from the championship tees and offers forward tee placements for the higher handicap.  Stone Creek is truly one of Southern Illinois' finest golfing venues.
